Walters State Eliminates Midland

10 Seed Walters State upends 7 seed Midland 95-82, making their way into the Wednesday Quarterfinals. The Senators (32-1) will meet #2 seed College of Southern Idaho at 2:30.

Leading 49-41 after 20:00, WSCC increased their margin by five after a 46- 41 second half to win 95-82.

The game seemed closer than the final score indicated. The game deficit for Midland was under 10 the last nine minutes. Plus the game was tied at 75 after a 12-0 run by the Chaps with just under six to go. 

The Senators expanded the lead to finish it off.

There were 3 ties and 9 lead changes. Walters had a +8 rebounding cushion. 

19 points by Jamar Licingston and 17 each from Tawuez Butler and Carter Webb led the way for WSCC. Brian Carter went Dubdub with 12 and 10.

Antoine Bo Hurns had game high 22 for Midland. Duane Thompson had a double double of his own 15 & 10.
