*Phoenix College was ousted from the tournament after being disqualified for using an ineligible player. Tournament officials awarded Wilmington College a forfeit victory over Phoenix and put them back in the winners bracket and took Phoenix’s place in game with the team Phoenix beat in the opening game of the championship, Southern Union College. Burlington, having been eliminated by Wilmington was also given a second chance against the replacement game 10 loser, Southern Union College. Burlington having been eliminated by accident, went on the place 4th in the restructured event. As a result, Wilmington and Southern Union both ended up playing two games on Friday. In addition, two teams, Broome Tech and Southern Union became the first teams in tournament history to lose three games in a double-elimination format, with Broome Tech accomplishing that rarity first. Meanwhile, Wilmington College’s reprieve allowed them to make the final four and finished in fourth.
