WEST (Regions 1 & 18)
The West District Championship will be a one game plaoff on Saturday, March 14, at Winner of Region 1 (The District Playoff is hosted by the Region 18 Champs in odd years and the Region 1 Champs in even years).
REGION 1: All Tournament games will be played at the home site of the higher seeded team. All Times MT.
There are seven Division I teams who compete in the ACCAC. The top 4 teams in the final conference standings (with tie-breakers) will participate in the Region Championship and be seeded according to that order.

Region 5 is made up of 2 conferences; the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) and the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC). Post-season tournament site includes both men and women’s games. Even years, the men get the late start times.

SOUTH ATLANTIC (Region 8)
REGION 8 – The South Atlantic District Championship will run March 11, 13 & 14 in Raider Arena, Northwest Florida State College, Niceville, FL.
The Region combined 3 conferences into two a couple of years ago. The old Panhandle, with 5 teams, remained in tact. The new Citrus Conference merged the Southern and Central Conferences, and has 9 teams.
The top 2 teams in the final standings from the Panhandle are auto qualified for the FCSAA State Tournament, a single elimination event in which the winner gets an automatic berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. The same goes for the top 5 finishers in the Citrus. The final team is determined by a one game playoff between the 3rd place team from the Panhandle and the 6th place finisher from the Citrus. Citrus Conference qualifiers (5): Florida Southwestern State (23-7), Daytona State College (24-6), Eastern Florida State College (23-7), Indian River State College (17-12), and Miami-Dade College (17-13)
(JHS Opinion) Left out: Tallahassee State College (24-6) – Tied for 1st in Panhandle Conference with Northwest Florida, Gulf Coast State College, and Chipola (all with 7-5 records). In the process, they beat Northwest Florida State College all three games in Conference this year (the highest Massey Ranking team of the bunch), plus beat Gulf Coast State College two of the three games they played (the second highest ranking Massey rated team from Region 8). Chipola, who finished one spot above Tally in the final Massey Rankings (released Monday , March 2) did beat the Eagles twice in their three games. Not that it matters, but Tallahassee also beat two of the qualifying teams from the Citrus Conference in Daytona State College and Indian River State College. I know that the FSCAA by-laws state the Top 5 teams from the Citrus Conference qualify automatically (because they have 9 teams who compete in that league) and the top 3 of the 5 Panhandle Conference teams receive auto bids to the State Tournament. Originally, when the FCSAA went from three Conferences down to two several years ago, they were each supposed to have 7 teams. Had they left that alone, this unfortunate omission wouldn’t have happened. But the Panhandle group has only themselves to blame for that. They petitioned hard to keep their nice five team set up in place and for whatever reason, the FCSAA allowed it. Enough on that.
The 8 teams will be seeded soon. My guess, since the Massey Rankings seem to be so important these days (eye roll here), the seeds should probably end up like this: #1 Northwest Florida, #2 Gulf Coast State, #3 Daytona State, #4 Chipola, #5 Florida SouthWestern State, #6 Eastern Florida State, #7 Indian River State, and #8 Miami-Dade College. UPDATED: That is exactly how the seeds were awarded! I would probably have Daytona State College in the #2 slot, because of their head to head win over Gulf Coast. But, on the other hand, when does H2H matter anymore…just ask Tallahassee State!! No offense to any of the qualfying teams, nor to the FCSAA. It is a tough job based on the circumstances.
The FCSAA did make an adjustment prior to this season, by eliminating the At-Large entry. But maybe they should take another look at their Basketball Sports Code format for Tournament selection in the future. Just saying. Increasing the field to 10 or 12 teams (of the 14 total), would only add one day of play, and could be held at higher seeds a couple of days before the quarterfinals. The top 6 or 4, depending, would still get first round byes. Can’t wait to watch this event. It is just as exciting as the NT in Hutch. Wish I could take it in live, but the boss won’t foot the expense.

NORTHWEST PLAINS (Region 9)
The Northwest Plains District Championship Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals will run March 12-14 at site of South Sub-Region #1 Seed – Northeastern JC. All first round games will be played on Saturday, March 7 at higher seed.
The Region is divided into two sub-regions. The two sub-regions are:
North: Casper, Central Wyoming, Eastern Wyoming, Gillette, Laramie County,
Northwest WY, & Western Wyoming.
South: Lamar, McCook, Northeastern JC (CO), Trinidad, North Platte, Otero, Southeast CC (NE) & Western Nebraska.
The top 7 teams from the South and all 7 teams from the North will participate. The first round of the Region 9 tournament will be played at the home sites. The top team from the each of the South and North sub-region will receive a first round byes. The pairings from all first round games will match up higher seeds from each sub-region crossing over and playing the lower seeds from the opposite sub-region. The quarterfinals through finals will be played at the home of the #1 seed of alternating regions based on the year. In odd number years the North Division highest seed hosts the District Tournament. In even years, it’s the South’s turn.

SOUTH (Region 22)
REGION 22 – The South District Championship runs March 12-14 in Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center, Talladega College, Talladega, AL. There are 8 teams who compete at the D1 level in the District, however, only the top 6 teams in the final ACCC standings will participate in the Championship. Lawson State CC and Coastal Alabama – South have been eliminated from participating.
The top 2 teams will receive byes. All time are CT.

GULF (Region 23)
The Gulf District is made up of the 15 schools in the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) otherwise known as Region 23, plus the three teams in the Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference (LCCAC) – Delgado, Southern University-Shreveport and Baton Rouge CC.
The District Tournament will be played March 5, 7, 10 & 13. Twelve teams will compete, including the top 8 teams from the final MACCC standings, the Louisiana Champion, and 3 at-large teams (all based on the most recent Massey rankings (at least in the past). The top four seeds receive a bye. The Louisiana Champ is guaranteed no lower than the #9 seed.
The LCCAC Champion is…Southern University-Shreveport
All first round, and quarterfinal games will be played at higher seed home court. The Final Four will be held March 10 & 13 at the home court of the highest seed remaining.
