Seminole State Provides A Scare, But Ranger Outlasts

March 21, 2021 (Hutchinson, KS) – In a battle of the last two teams in the first round, #11 Ranger got a stiff test from #22 Seminole State, and eked out a 78-75 win.

Ranger, now 27-7, got a 24 point effort from Taylon Conerway, who also corralled 6 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Also in double figs was Mykal Robinson at 18 and B.J. Comer with 13. Robinson matched Conerway with 6 boards.

The Rangers will now play #6 seed Indian Hills CC Wednesday at 8:00

Seminole State drops to 25-8. Leading the way for the Trojans was Deazhon Perkins with game high 24. Next up was Micah Lena with 15, Israel Hart dropped in 14 points, 7 boards and 5 apples. Leading rebounder was Braydon Redd with 8

The game came down to the last shot by Seminole trailing by three. An errant three pointer found it’s way back to the Trojans, but a mad scramble back to behind the arc for another game tying attempt was no good.
