Defending Champs Trinity Valley Cancels The Jets Flight

Cinderella #21 seed Northern Oklahoma – Enid was up against the defending champions in #4 seed Trinity Valley CC. The result was not good. After two lead flips and 2 ties, it was all Cardinals.

TVCC sprinted to a 48 to 17 cushion at the half, before extending to the final verdict of 83-44.

The margin was the largest for a #4 seed in the modern era (since the format change in 2013) when Hutchinson CC beat three seed Eastern Florida State by 26 (84-58) in 2013.

Trinity forced 21 miscues from the Jets and controlled the boards 40-26. The Cardinals shot 54% from the field compared to NOC’s 33%. At one point in the 1st half the Cards put up an impressive run of 27 consecutive points. The Valley had little resistance in the paint, out pointing Enid 52-18.

Trinity Valley fast-forwards to Friday’s Semifinals with a 5:30 hook-up with #1 Howard College, a double overtime winner over Butler CC 134-128 earlier today.

Five Cardinals posted double figures led by Braylon Wenger and Moussa Konare each with 12, Najee Graham had 11. Both Zati Loubaki and Armani Henderson put in ten.
