Butler Up Big At Half, Then They Weren’t, Then They Were

March 20, 2023 (Hutchinson, KS) – #10 seed Butler CC used a strong first half to almost put away #23 Roane State CC going up 47-27 at the break.

Roane, making their second straight appearance at Hutch, their first ever last year, said not yet Grizzlies.as they cut the deficit to 56-53 midway into the 2nd half. Following the under 10 media time out, Butler went on a 7-0 run, and eventually put away the Raiders 85-66.

Butler will meet #7 Northwest Florida State Tuesday at 8:30. The Grizzlies, who move to 28-6, were led by Tahjae Hill’s 21 points, Four other Grizlies put up double figures including Isaac Ondekane and Javon Grant with 12 each, and Caleb Golden with 10. Ondekane had team high 9 rebounds.

Roane State CC got 17 from Sbastian Tidor, 15 from King Warren, and 11 by Kavon Blankenship. The Raiders shot 32% on 52 FGs, to Butler’s 58%.
