Big Second Half Powers No. 1 Salt Lake Past Laramie County

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 13, 2021) – A narrow halftime lead turned into a romping victory for the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men’s Basketball team.
 
SLCC earned a 98-67 victory over Laramie County Community College to close out the ‘Bruin Classic’ Saturday, outscoring LCCC by a 61-34 margin in the second half. With the victory, Salt Lake is now 4-0 overall, with a mark of 1-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
The Bruins played lockdown defense in the second half, turning a tight 37-33 halftime lead into a strong victory. SLCC limited Laramie County to just 33.3 percent shooting in the second half (9-of-27), with LCCC hitting just 1-of-8 three-point shots. Salt Lake also forced 27 turnovers, scoring 41 points thanks to their defensive prowess.
 
Once again, transfer Doctor Bradley keyed SLCC to victory, finishing with 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting. Four players for Salt Lake scored 11 points each – Chase Adams, Festus Ndumanya, Jordan Brinson, and Jaquan Scott came off the bench to score a total of 56 points in the victory. 
 
Salt Lake will travel next to a tournament in Texas, hosted by Odessa College. SLCC will start play on Wednesday with Midland College. Their other opponents will be #8 New Mexico JC and Odessa.
