Postseason underway in several Regions/Districts
Here are the early returns from those Regions and Districts who have started postseason play. Regions 13 and 16 had their quarterfinals Tuesday. Region 13 combines with Region 11 to make up the North Central District. Region 16 pairs up with Region 4 to form the Midwest District. Region play has to complete so they are finished in time for the winners to meet for District Championships. All Districts must conclude by Saturday, April 10. Region 23, with 19 teams, is the Gulf District. All nineteen teams are included in this year’s Championship, so their play started this week too. In the Southwest District (Region 5) their are two divisions, each division crowns its own champion and the winners meet for the District title. In the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, quarterfinals began Wednesday, March 31. The other division, Western Junior College Athletic Conference begins play Monday, April 5.

Region 16 (Midwest District):
Quarterfinal: Tuesday, March 30, #5 State Fair CC (8-14) – 72 at #4 Three Rivers College (10-11) – 64.
Region 23 (Gulf District):
First round – Tuesday, March 30: #18 Baton Rouge CC (6-8) – 75 at #15 Copiah-Lincoln CC (2-12) – 59; #19 Southern University-Shreveport (3-11) – 75 at #14 East Central CC (3-11) – 87; #17 Mississippi Delta CC (5-11) – 58 at #16 Coahoma CC (2-12) – 63.
Region 5 (Southwest District):
Quarterfinals – Wednesday, March 31: #8 Temple College (5-13) – 87 at #1 Grayson College (18-2) – 123: #5 Collin College (13-8) – 81 at #4 Hill College (14-7) – 79; #7 Southwestern Christian (5-12) – 59 at #2 Ranger College (15-4) – 128; #6 Weatherford College (10-12) – 59 at #3 McLennan College (17-4) – 85.
