Warriors Fast Start Overwhelms Visiting Casper

Ottumwa, IA (November 18, 2021) – The Casper College T-Birds ventured into “The Hills” of Southeastern Iowa, some 850 miles from home, to challenge another team who’s been getting some attention in the NJCAA top 25 polls.

Casper came into the game with a record of 3-2, having lost to Snow College (UT), currently at #20, and College of Southern Idaho who is receiving votes.

#8 Indian Hills returned home to the Hellyer Center for the first game since their loss to Butler CC (KS) on Nov. 6th. The Warriors don’t like to lose, and it doesn’t happen very often, especially at home.

This time, the Warriors treated the regular rowdies to what they are accustom to, a home court victory. Indian Hills jumped out to a 25-10 lead at the mid point of the half, taking their largest lead at 28 with three minutes left. IHCC settled for a 47-25 cushion at half time.

Casper was able to win the second half, 42-36, but their early struggles were too much to overcome, losing 83-67. The Thunderbirds now stand at 3-3 on the season and will play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (7-1) tomorrow, another team receiving votes in the polls.

Rashaun Agee posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Casper. Jaren Harris added 12.

Leading the Warriors crusade were three players coming off the bench. Taj Anderson and Yacine Toumi each tossed in 14. Andre Harris netted ten and had team high 7 rebounds. Toumi was a perfect 7 of 7 from the field while Anderson got all of his points in just 12 minutes of playing time.

Next up for Indian Hills (4-1) is McCook CC on Friday, in the Bowling RV Classic at the Hellyer.
