Vincennes Missed Last Year, But Didn’t Miss A Beat In First Round Win
March 20, 2023 (Hutchinson, KS) – Game three of the NJCAA Men’s DI National Championship between #15 seed Vincennes University and #18 Trinity Valley CC started out slow. Neither team could find the bottom of the net, and the first half ended with VU leading 24-19.
The Trailblazers shot 28% from the field while TVCC managed only 22% in the opening 20 minutes.
Shooting percentages improved for both teams in the second half, but not enough to pull out the win for Trinity Valley.
Vincennes hit 52% of their shots in the 2nd stanza, 39.3 for tha game, nearly 10 points more than the Cardinals. Final score 70-57.
Micah Clark and Najee Jones led Trinity with 12 and 10 respectively. TVCC falls to 14-19.
For the Blazers, Caleb Johnson pumped in 19, followed by Tasos Cook & Kris King both finished with 15. Michael Osei-Bonsu found 9 rebounds in the win.
Vincennes gets a date now with #2 seed College of Southern Idaho (29-1) on Tuesday at 6:00.
