Thirteen District Champions will be crowned today

Three of the NJCAA’s sixteen District Champions were decided Friday night. John A. Logan College (IL) won the Central with a 77-68 home win over Vincennes University. Shelton State CC (AL), by virtue of their 71-55 home court victory versus upstart Wallace CC – Selma claim the South District. And Holmes CC (MS) take the Gulf District title with a surprising 81-56 mastery of Northeast Mississippi CC. All three of the winners receive automatic berths in the NJCAA National Tournament, which runs April 19-24 at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS.
The 24 team field consists of the sixteen District Champions, and 8 national At-Large teams to be announced Sunday, April 11 by the selection committee during the 6:00 PM live broadcast on NJCAATV. All 24 teams will be seeded, and the top 8 seeds receive byes.

West (Region 1) – #2 Arizona Western College (11-2) – 62 at #1 Cochise College (10-2) – 83 in the Sevier Center, Snow College, Richfield, UT.
South Central (Region 2) – #1 Northern Oklahoma – Tonkawa (22-1) – 66 at #2 Nothern Oklahoma – Enid (17-4) – 64.
Atlantic (Region 10) – #3 Caldwell CC&T (10-6) – 89 at #1 Brunswick CC (14-3) – 98.
Midwest (Regions 4 & 16) – Mineral Area College (22-0) – 73 at Triton College (20-3) – 56.
Southwest (Region 5) – Ranger College (18-4) – 90 vs. Western Texas College (15-7) – 65 in the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum, Howard College, Big Spring, TX.
Plains (Region 6) – #1 Hutchinson CC (18-5) – 107 vs. #2 Cowley College (20-4) – 116 at Friends University, Wichita, KS.
Appalachian (Region 7) – Cleveland State CC (11-6) – 59 vs. Southwest Tennessee CC (10-4) – 70 in Richard Moore Gymnasium (Pickel Field House) at Volunteer State CC, Gallatin, TN.
South Atlantic (Region 8) – #2 Indian River State College (18-2) – 75 vs. #1 Chipola College (20-4) – 88 in Raider Arena at Northwest Florida State College, Niceville, FL
Northwest Plains (Region 9) – #1S Northeastern JC (14-5) – 89 vs. #4S McCook CC (14-10) – 71 in the Recreation and Athletic Complex at Laramie Co. CC, Cheyenne, WY.
Rocky Mountain (Region 18) – #1 College of Southern Idaho (20-3) – 94 vs. #2 Salt Lake CC (20-3) – 84 in the Sevier Center at Snow College, Richfield, UT.
North Central (Regions 11 & 13) – Indian Hills CC (21-2) – 67 at Dawson CC (22-2) – 68.
Southeast (Region 22) – #8 East Georgia State College (9-14) – 69 at #2 South Georgia State (21-3) – 75.
