Selection Sunday Follows Super Saturday In Men’s DI Hoops
Middle America – The 2022 NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball Selection Show is set to air live on the NJCAA Network to announce at-large selections and tournament seeding. The show will feature bracket reveals, on-air analysis, highlights, exclusive interviews, and in-depth information about “The Tournament”. The show is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM EST on Sunday, March 6.
Sixteen teams have qualified by virtue of on court conquest in their respective District Championships. However, with the tournament participants maxed at 24 teams, their are still spots to fill.
Eight at-large teams will be selected from a pool of petitioners in order to finalize the field for the single elimination roundball regatta.
This year, The Tournament is celebrating its 75th Anniversary of producing the Main Event, which started back in 1948. Technically, this will only be the 74th actual running of the games, since the 2020 tourney was covid cancelled just days before it was all set to go.
The Tournament officially tips-off on Monday, March 14 at 10:00 AM CDT, at the historic Sports Arena on the Hutchinson CC campus in Hutchinson, KS.
Five days and 23 games later, the championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at a time TBA. Most likely at 6:00 CDT. That might change, however, if the game is picked up by a national television network like it was in both 2018 and 2019 (CBS Sports Network).
All games in the tournament will be livestreamed on the NJCAA Network for a reasonable fee.
