Charlotte, NC – John A. Logan’s (IL) Jayden Scrubb has been selected as the 2019-20 NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball Player of the Year presented by TicketSmarter. Scrubb led the Vols to a 28-5 record this season, including an 18-0 mark in Region XXIV’s Great Rivers Athletic Conference. The undefeated conference slate marks the first in Vols program history. John A. Logan ended the season on an 11-game win streak.
A dynamic scorer, Scrubb led John A. Logan in points per game and steals per game. Over the course of the season, Scrubb posted eight 30-point performances including a season-high 38 points on February 15 during a 93-83 win at Wabash Valley. Scrubb boasted an impressive performance in the Vols’ NJCAA Central District final. The 36-point performance, with a 61.5 field goal percentage, and seven rebounds led to John A. Logan securing the third national tournament appearance in program history and a No. 5 overall seed.
