More postseason action scheduled for tonight
Postseason continues today as Region 4 (Midwest District) has #3 Kankakee CC (12-9) on the road to #2 Highland CC (15-4). The winner goes to Triton College (18-3) for the Championship game on Saturday, April 3. The other half of the Midwest District (Region 16) has their semis tomorrow (Friday) and finals Saturday. The Region winners collide Saturday, April 10 for the District Championship and automatic entry into the National Tournament.
In the North Central District (Regions 11 & 13), Region 13 has semifinal action tonight. Here are the match-ups: #5 Williston State College (12-10) at #1 Dawson CC (20-2) at 7:30 MDT; #3 Lake Region State College (15-8) at #2 North Dakota SCS (15-6) at 7:00 CDT. The District crown will be handed out on Saturday, April 10 when the Region 11 champ makes the journey to the Region 13 Champion site. Region 11 has semifinals set for this Saturday, April 3 and their championship game will be Tuesday, April 6.
In the Gulf District (Region 23), the second round happens tonight with seven games on tap. Here is the line-up (all times 7:00 CDT): #16 Coahoma CC (3-12) at #1 Pearl River CC (10-1); #9 Northwest Mississippi CC (7-7) at #8 Jones CC (6-5); #12 Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (6-10) at #5 Holmes CC (11-3): #18 Baton Rouge (7-8) at #2 Northeast Mississippi CC (12-3); #10 Delgado CC (8-6) at #7 Meridian CC (8-5); #14 East Central CC (4-11) at #3 Hinds CC (11-2); #11 Southwest Mississippi CC (7-9) at #6 East Mississippi CC (11-5). #13 Itawamba CC (5-9) was scheduled to go to #4 LSU-Eunice (12-0), but had to cancel due to covid. Unfortunately, the game has been declared a “No Contest,” and LSU-Eunice advances to the quarterfinal round, which takes place on Tuesday, April 6.
