#2 Texans fall to Panola College 63-46
PLANO — The second-ranked South Plains College men’s basketball team fell to Panola College 63-46 Friday at the East-West Challenge at Cougar Gymnasium on the campus of Collin County Community College.
The Texans will look to get back in the win column Saturday when they take on Lamar State College-Port Arthur at 10 a.m. at Cougar Gymnasium. The game will stream live at spctexans.com.
Freshman DJ Avery led the Texans on the offensive end, netting 11 points. Freshman Kieves Turner dropped in 10 points for South Plains, while Marcus Burnett had nine points, six coming in the final 20 minutes.
Following the weekend, South Plains will play on their home court for the first time this season when they host Monroe College on Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Nov. 20 against Dallas College-North Lake.
