BREVARD COUNTY, FL – Eastern Florida State took sole possession of first place in the Central Conference Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.
The Titans defeated Polk State College 73-66 in the battle of top teams in the conference and won their 20th game of the season to go with seven losses. EFSC sits at 10-2 in the conference while Polk falls to 17-8 overall and 7-3 against league opponents.

The Eagles grabbed as much as a 10-point lead in the first half but found themselves down eight with four minutes left. Brandon Garcia would score eight straight points to spearhead a Titan 13-2 run for a strong finish to the first half.
Polk State would cut the lead to one point a couple of times in the second half, but the Titans played tough defense, hit their free throws and rebounded well down the stretch to pick up the win.
The Titans Reggie Hill would go 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the second half and Roberts Berze stepped up late in the game to slow down the Eagles’ Freddie Word, who put in 20 of his game high 24 points in the second half.
Brody Boyer and Hill each scored 14 points to lead the Titans, while Roberts Berze finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Vlad Salaridze offered 10 points.
