The NJCAA is comprised of 24 Regions. Only 22 of those regions have teams who compete in Division I Men’s Basketball. Below is a list of all Regions with links to respective Region/Conference Web Pages, states included, Conference affiliation, and the number of Division I teams.
Please note: Vincennes University is actually in Region 12. However, they are the only Division I team in the state of Indiana, and in Region 12 for that matter. Because of their proximity to Region 24 (Southern Illinois) they compete in their Central District Championship, which includes Regions 12 & 24.
A total of 185 schools will participate in NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball during the 2025-26 season, a net loss of 1 from 2024-25. Click on the highlighted Region link to go to that Region’s webpage.
Although the map shows Oregon, Washington, and California are included in the Region breakdown, they are not members of the NJCAA, and do not compete in the NJCAA Championships. They have their own leagues and determine their own Champions. The Northwest Athletic Conference has 32 teams from Oregon and Washington and one from Canada, who compete in four divisions. The California Community College Athletic Association has 87 schools from 12 conferences that compete for their State Championship.
